Location

Moulin Tixier is situated approx 400km south of Paris in the Creuse region, in the heart of the Limousin. We are ideally situated between the big cities of Limoges and Clermont Ferrand both with airports and good rail links.  When arriving in the Creuse it is as if you have stepped back in time.  The pace of life is slow and the villages still very traditional.

The Limousin, with its many still lakes, fast flowing rivers, green valleys dotted with French farms and famous limousin cows, ravines and forested mountains, is one of the best kept secrets of France.

Travelling by Car -

With it's great motorway network, France offers a pleasurable driving experience.  With ferry companies, such as LD Lines,  now offering return crossings for as little as £50 it makes your holiday very cost effective.  Moulin Tixier is situated 4km off the N141.  Having driven the route many times we can provide you with route details upon request or use via michelin to plan your own route from Calais or Le Havre.


Travelling by Air -

Moulin Tixier is located 150kms from Limoges airport, with low costs flights from the UK offered by Ryan Air from Stansted, East Midlands, Liverpool, Bournemouth (2 April 09), Bristol (2 Jul 09), Edinburgh (30 Mar 09), Luton (3 May 09)  and Flybe. from Southampton, . Car hire is also available.

 

Local Community

Moulin Tixier is 3km from the quaint village of Bellegarde-en-Marche with it's ancient clock tower. The village has a great Boulangerie, Boucherie and Bar/Tabac.

15km away is the historic medieval market town of Aubusson, famous for it's tapestries.  Set on the Creuse river, this pretty town with it's stunning architecture offers all you need, good restaurants,  tea/coffee shops, bars, shops, banks and supermarkets.
